Toys R Us has announced the upcoming release of the Tabeo Tablet, a 7 inch tablet made just for children. For parents who get a little nervous allowing their children to play with their expensive personal devices the Tabeo gives them a reasonably priced alternative. Starting October 21st, Toys R Us will be offering the tablet for $149.99 with pre-orders starting online next Monday. Everything about this new tablet is child friendly. It is protected on all sides by a rubber “bumper” to protect it from breakage and comes preloaded with 50 child friendly apps. There are an additional 7,000 free apps that parents and children can download and the tablet runs on the “Ice Cream Sandwich” operating system, Google’s latest Android operating system release. The tablet also comes with different parental controls that allow parents to block specific sites and content and can also be set to only be on the internet at specific times or for a specified number of hours.
